Happy News

I received this yesterday in my inbox - how wonderful!

Hi Mary-Anne,

Congratulations, your quilt won last week's Show & Tell event.  Chelsey from the Fat Quarter Shop will be sending you information on how to use the $25 gift certificate in their online shop.

Cheers,
Michele

ARIZONA PROJECT 3 - STARBURST

This is how it all began..... two pieces of fabric scraps turned into stars on white muslin.  I then added a whimsical ribbon and some stars in the center and quilted from there

Fabric Box Tutorial

Here's a neat link for a cute little Fabric Box tutorial that was posted on the Quilting Gallery site - just click on the link - looks like fun to make! Thanks to Seaside Stitches for making this tutorial available!

so many uses - notions for sewing - pens and pencils in the kitchen or just a basket to collect little tools.

ART Quilts

Other projects completed................ Sunburst - this one went to my friend Gisela

And the dove on the Moon went to another friend Trina

Let It Snow!!!

Completed the first of several projects I brought to Arizona with me.  It's 90 degrees out and my first project was to teach myself to paper piece and completed a few paper piecing projects I had purchased a few years ago.  This one titled Let It Snow - a pattern I purchased in Alberta.  It was embellished with decorative patterns, Art Glitter - faux snow and white glitter, hand painted snowflakes, and red sari yarn.  Had such fun making this little guy!

Summer Projects

Along with the completed Fall Mug Rugs I've completed a number of other projects over the summer.  Jeremy's quilt is finally put together and it was quite the project.  Following CRAFTY's Block of the Month and quilting in free motion with Leah Day was quite the project as I increased the number of blocks and made a few of my own.  It ended up as a Queen Size Quilt as you go project and I am so glad it is done.  I began the blocks in Arizona in 2012 and completed it the night before we left for Arizona in 2013. I am sure hoping he loves it.  It was his birthday gift but the quilting was put on the back burner until after our family wedding.
